The first full day that the Kenya Airways East African Safari Classic 2013 spent in Tanzania has proved to be full of incident with some crews suffering enormous setbacks and others progressing smoothly with few problems.
When we saw Björn and Mathias standing outside their car waving OK we were relieved but the thought came to me ‘If that can happen to Björn, I had better be careful’. Thus we drove very steadily for the rest of that section.

At the weekend, there was a very important meeting in Nairobi. This was the briefing for the key marshals, timekeepers and officials of the Kenya Airways Safari Classic Rally. It was held in a typically informal tented setting outside the new offices of the rally on Riverside Drive in Nairobi.
On Friday, Tuthill Porsche dispatched the remainder of their armada of Porsche 911s plus the tons of parts and tyres needed to support the Porsches that they have prepared for clients during the nine days of the Safari Classic.
