Have never entered the East African Safari Rally as a competitor but 2003 i was an official
My greatest event is the Safari Rally.
Would like to rally in New Zealand and Morocco.
I haven't rallied anywhere.
Relationship to Navigator: Buddies
The Safari Rally has been a constant in my life from the very beginning. I started officiating at a very young age and have been very heavily involved since.
Africa is home.
Age Started Rallying: Wish I could say from birth. Due to school commitments, I began my first official role during the 2019 Safari Rally Kenya. However, I recently started to compete in a 2 seater buggy for the Autocross Championship at the age of 23.
I experienced my first ever Classic Rally in 2019 as a Safety Mobile Official. Ever since then, the Classic ‘Dudu’ has bitten me and the itch will never go away.
My greatest event is the Safari Rally and the East African Safari Classic Rally. Why you ask? Well, as the tag line says, it truly is the greatest rally in the world. I’ve always been passionate about rallying and patriotic about Kenya from a young age. Combining the two aforementioned statements indeed escalates my admiration for these two events. Moreover, the organisation put in for both rallies is simply bulletproof.
I would like to rally in Kenya, Portugal and New Zealand.
Where have you rallied: Kenya to say. However, not rallied, but I have navigated in a Rally Raid event, and like I earlier mentioned, I am now an Autocross driver.
Currently lying third in the 2WD Non- Turbo Buggy Class Autocross Championship standings for 2021.
Relationship to driver: A best friend closer than a Brother
The Safari Rally means a rally that holds a rich heritage and history all around the world. It’s always been a dream to be part of such an event, but now all I can express is my sheer excitement of this dream actually coming true to be a part of the “Greatest Rally in the World”.
Africa is home.
I have driven a Magibug, Toyota 5A Engine powered 2WD Non-Turbo Buggy.
My favourite so far is the Buggy and soon to be our PA10 Classic Rally Car.
From every event I have officiated in or competed in, I always aim to have fun! One rather memorable experience was when the Magibug caught fire in the Mayes Memorial Baja held in October 2020. Was quite a shocking experience but we had a laugh about it later.
