Baldev Chager and Ravi Soni have won the 2018 Mini Classic Rally powered by Safaricom 4G+.
“We were lucky as we drove with a broken rear tie-rod end for the last 35 kilometres of the stage,” said Soni. Chager, a winner of the Nakuru Classic Rally has also won the Safari Rally and Kenya National Rally Drivers Championship series never looked back after snatching the lead from Tapio Laukkanen at the start of day two of the three-day competition. The Finn, co-driven by Gavin Laurence, finished second in a Porsche 911.
Ian Duncan, who has previously won the East African Safari Classic Rally on two separate occasions, failed to finish after his Ford Capri developed engine failure at the penultimate stage.
