1960 VW 'beetle'
Joginder and Jaswant Singh finished all seven Safaris which they entered together. Among their mounts was this humble Volkswagen 'beetle' in 1960.

1954 the beetle drivers
Beetle drivers in 1954, Burton and Shepherd, Cardwell and Thomas, Brooks and Vest. The latter pair were excluded for exceeding a 30 mph speed limit.
